What is a virtual assistant?
A virtual assistant is generally self-employed and provides professional administrative, technical, or creative (social) assistance to clients remotely from a home office.
What does a virtual assistant do?
A virtual assistant provides that same type of support as a personal assistant, executive or other office personnel, but they are not physically located in your office. Administrative work, social media management, bookkeeping are examples of work a virtual assistant can help you with.
Where will my virtual assistant be located?
Our virtual assistants are primarily based in North America. We provide the choice between West Coast (MST and PST) and East Coast (CST and EST) time zones (Atlantic Provinces will fall into our East Coast zone as well). If you are based in the United States, please contact our US office here.
What hours does a virtual assistant work?
Our virtual assistants work conventional business hours in their time zone, usually 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. If you need assistance on the weekends or on holidays, reach out to us and we’ll arrange office support for your business.
How are virtual assistants assigned?
The Virtual Gurus only recruits professionals with at least 5 years of experience in their chosen field, whether it is administrative support, graphic design or other professional areas. We assign virtual assistants to a clients based on a multitude of factors including location, personality and skill-set to best match the services that you have requested.
Are there any specific tasks that my virtual assistant is unable to perform?
As highly skilled as our virtual assistants are, there are some tasks that we are unable to directly assist with due to a combination of legalities and domain expertise requirements. However, our project managers will gladly assist with the sourcing of such qualified individuals to help the success of your business!
What if I only need a receptionist?

What kind of turnaround can I expect on my tasks?
It is our priority to accomplish your tasks in a timely manner. Typical turnaround for completion of tasks is within 24-48 hours. Our project management platform, TeamWork, is a great tool for our virtual assistants to stay on track, and for clients to check the progress of assigned tasks.
What if I'm unhappy with my virtual assistant?
Although this doesn’t happen very often, occasionally an assistant is not a good fit for our client. When this happens, reach out to your project manager to discuss the situation. This is a great way for us to better understand your business requirements and coach our virtual assistants to improve their performance. Your project manager will assign a virtual assistant that is a better choice for your business.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards as payment. All the payment details you need will be on your invoice.
Do my hours roll over?
Our package hours do not roll over. However, as each package represents a varying level of service, you are free at any time to upgrade or downgrade your monthly package based on your current demand.
